The August release of Dope Folks' 72nd release is from Ohio's Lone Catalysts, the crew that J. Rawls and J. Sands formed while attending college in the mid 90's. These "demos" were recorded between '94-'96 and cleaned up and remastered for this 6 song banger - all songs are previously unreleased. The track "All Time Great" also features an early appearance by Anticon's legendary underground MC Dose One!
Tragedy Khadafi is a certified QB legend with nearly 30 years of recorded music on wax. The 2nd volume of the 'Black Rage Demos' features 6 full vocal outings, none of which have been available elsewhere previously...
Jae Supreme is QB's best kept secret - this EP is limited to 200 copies for sale and won't be around long with a heavy selection of 90s productions for major artists such as Nas, CNN, Cormega etc
You might be surprised :) I try to surprise you with the best innovations !
Late October it's time for another two releases on Dope Folks Records and both are releases of old acquaintance who released on Dope Folks before. The 1st artist is Omniscence who drops the EP "Elektra Emancipation" featuring 7 tracks from the years 1996 - 1998 entirely produced by Fanatic.
Kerwin Young worked in Public Enemy's Long Island studio at 510 South Franklin Avenue in Hempstead from 1988. He did production on all of Professor Griff's solo albums and his magic wand [pause] has touched many a Bomb Squad production. In 1993 he produced a demo by a cat called Dr Seus which made it into the Source Unsigned Hype section and he also produced half of Mobb Deep's debut album "Juvenile Hell".
Infinite Description consisted of Lord Cyrus, Ill Natured Natural, and Bones from Baltimore,MD. They all attended Scott's Branch Elementary, Old Court Middle, and Milford Mill High School, so had known each other for most of their lives. The group honed their skills in the legendary Tic Toc studios owned by Jay Funk and eventually released a single "Swinging Tight B/W Nasty Ass and Hip-Hop Style" in 1994. They had enough material for a album and the plan was to self release. They put their money together and self-financed 300 copies on wax and 300 tapes through Disc Makers. The local feedback was great and the record led on to more Baltimore Hip Hop releases over the next few years, kick starting a healthy Baltimore scene.

All songs were recorded between 1989-1996 and taken straight from Stezo's vaults. The tracks "Police Story", "Here To School Ya" and "I Have A Dream" were from his 2nd album set for Sleeping Bag Records in 1990 until the project was shelved. The other tracks are from the sought after "Where's The Funk At" 12" and features K-Solo! Also included is a remix from DJ Funkdat of "Where's The Funk At" that has never been released on wax!
Dope CD EP, it seems these tracks were released on vinyl UU° across 2 x 12"s, both of which go for plenty of $$$$$$, UU anyway here they are in CDquality.
