V.A. - Nodyaheadtodis Volume 1.5 "In the fall of 1995 I decided to reach out to several local rappers from my old neighborhood in Brooklyn NY to record an underground classic compilation. Most of the rappers had never recorded before, making it a creative challenge for me. As a result, myself and my cousin Larry Cooper formed an Indie label called Discreet Records. At the time we thought it was a great time for indie hip hop especially with the success of the Wu Tang Clan. So the idea to make Nodyaheadtodis Vol.1 was the vessel to launch the label as well as the careers of our artists. The album included Darcsyde, Son of Blunts, Jac Nickelsun, Dre Black & Ms Stress, and an amazing reggae hip hop collabo featuring Mikey Jarrett, Bobo General, Sleepy Wonder, Screechy Dan and two late great dancehall legends Nicodemus & Sluggy Ranks to name a few. We were fortunate as well to have a great intro with the track "Who's calling" in which several top DJ's and radio personalities including Kool Dj Red Alert and Ralph Mc Daniels called in for an update on the record. It was released in May of 1996. It wasn't exactly a radio smash but it did well in the streets and underground circuit. I'm still very proud of it considering the fact that we recorded it in my apartment at the time. Although many of the artists are no longer in the music business, I must say that had a major distributor picked us up, this conversation might be quite different today. Nodyaheadtodis Vol 1. is still classic to me and hopefully a whole new underground hip hop audience." Brent "Faroah" Toussaint, producer of the Nodyaheadtodis EP's.
